Epoxy and epoxy based materials have an extensive list of uses. For our purposes we use epoxy coatings for the excellent adhesion, chemical and heat resistance, and mechanical properties. Epoxy coatings are a great flooring solution for residential, commercial, and industrial spaces to renovate, repair, decorate, or coat and seal concrete surfaces. With many systems and finish options this is a cost effective way to add durability and aesthetics to any concrete floor or countertop.
Polyaspartic is a different class of coating due to different chemical properties and we use this in combination with epoxy as a hybrid system and as a stand alone all polyaspartic system. In general a polyaspartic offers fast dry times, higher abrasion resistance, faster install, and overall higher performance than traditional epoxy. We typically use this as a concrete sealer or as a top coat over an epoxy finish (flaked, solid color, metallic, etc) so we can have the durable and UV resistant properties we desire. We can also use an all polyaspartic system for quick return to service spaces.
Epoxy and polyaspartic coatings are common in residential and commercial spaces alike. When cured, these coatings are extremely durable, preventing any oil, chemicals, and other contaminants from penetrating your substrate (concrete or wood or laminate to name a few). Having a durable epoxy or hybrid epoxy + polyaspartic coating system means your concrete or countertop is protected.
